GEISSELE “Super Precision Mount”, Extended/30mm/0°/DDC for AR-15 and AR-10 equipped with an A3 or A4 receiver (with Picatinny rails):

The GEISSELE bezel assembly has the particularity of being machined from a single piece, INCLUDING the upper half-collars! These are separated from the body of the assembly by a thin cut, then numbered to ensure their pairing with the lower half-collars. This technique makes it possible to have a perfect alignment of the 2 collars and consequently a total absence of abnormal stresses on the tube of the bezel. Many reductions are machined in various places to reduce the mass of the assembly as much as possible without affecting the rigidity (this is even improved thanks to the geometry of the overall structure)

The assembly is ensured by 2 hex nuts of 1/2″ (12.7mm) which may seem very conventional. This is not the case because the geometry of the clamping system has been redesigned to be able to ensure a return to zero after disassembly and reassembly of the bezel WITHOUT HAVING USE of a dynamometric wrench Tightening by hand followed by a 1/4 turn with a normal wrench is enough to recover the same zeroing (in practice the return to zero is often perfect, and at worst less than 1/2 MOA)
The clamping force following these instructions is approximately 600kg or 2 to 3 times the clamping obtained with most lever rigs The rig includes 4 anti-recoil lugs sized with a minimum of play relative to the notches ofa Picatinny rail (this also contributes to the quality of the return to zero after disassembly/reassembly).

Thanks to its outstanding characteristics, this assembly has been adopted in several different versions by the American army in the SOPMOD program for both the M4 and the M110 (The SOPMOD program includes a list of accessories intended for the weapons used by special forces which are under the command of the US Special Operations Command.)

– Machined from a block of aeronautical alloy type 7075T6 (same alloy as an M4/M16 MilSpec carcass) which gives it twice the resistance of most competing assemblies.
– Type III anodizing, DDC.

– ”Extended” version: the distance between the rear of the mount and the rear of the rear collar is 29.4mm.
– For all versions: collar width = 19mm; distance between collars = 71mm.

Note on the DDC (Desert Dirt Color) colour: this is a type III anodisation, the color of which varies according to the light. With normal lighting, the color is slightly darker and more matte than in the photo.
