The Windham Weaponry company was founded by Richard E. Dyke in 2011 at the location of Bushmaster, which he owned from 1976 to 2006 and which he agreed to sell to an investment fund to retire . This fund having decided to move Bushmaster from Maine to New York in 2011, leaving the employees out of work, Richard E. Dyke, despite his age, decided to found a new company so that his former team could resume service. Windham Weaponry is the legacy of the sum of their experiences.

Main Features :
- Semi-automatic direct throttle conversion for AR-15.
- 9” barrel (1:7” pitch) chambered in 300 AAC BLACKOUT, in MilSpec CMV steel (Mil-B-11595E) protected by double nitriding (Melonite QPQ) giving it very high wear resistance and corrosion.
- Standard barrel thread 5/8”x24Tpi.
- The rifling pitch of 1 turn in 7” stabilizes subsonic projectiles from 208 to 240 grains and all lighter supersonic projectiles.
- Cylinder head box made of 7075T6 aircraft alloy machined from forged parts.
- Carpenter C-158 special steel cylinder head.
- This conversion is compatible with all AR15 receivers whose dimensions are MilSpec.
- Barrel extension and breech box with M4 type feed ramps.
- Breech box with closing assistance pusher and ejection window door.
- Windham Weaponry 7″ floating handguard with picatinny top rail and M-LOK system on sides and bottom.
- This handguard, with a very small diameter, offers excellent grip.
- MilSpec type III anodization on the receiver, and the handguard.
