Description

XBR conversion FR-15 – 14.5” ALG V3 Black
The XBR brand is developed by BGM.
It is the result of our experience of over 25 years building customs on the AR15 platform.
FR15 rifles and conversions are assembled in our workshops from components selected by us and meet the demands of demanding sports shooters, whether for recreational shooting or TSV Rifle competitions. The range currently consists of models fitted with 14.5” or 11.5” stainless steel barrels.
The “XBR” mark is a tribute to the AR15, nicknamed ”The Black Rifle” for several decades because it was equipped with a stock and a handguard in black synthetic material which, combined with the use of an aeronautical alloy for the carcass and the receiver, contributed to the extraordinary lightness of the weapon for the time. This lightness is still relevant because few weapons can match the AR15 on this point. The letter ”X” is in homage to the XM177E2, the most legendary of the short-barreled AR15s and the father of the modern M4s and SBRs, although it took a long time before this concept was adopted. Our range being more particularly focused on the 11.5” and 14.5” barrels, it was natural to pay tribute to this rifle. This letter ”X” is, in the American army, the prefix defining an experimental material before possible adoption (example: the XM110 became the M110 after its adoption). The XM177E2 was only deployed in small quantities, but it was the first step towards a new generation of light and highly maneuverable rifles.

Main conversion features:

  • Semi-automatic mechanism with direct gas borrowing.
  • 14.5” match barrel chambered in 5.56 NATO, in bead blasted stainless steel (1:7” pitch).
  • Gun accuracy of less than one minute of angle (<29mm at 100m) with quality ammunition.
  • The rifling pitch of 1 turn in 7″ makes it possible to stabilize the MK262 or any other cartridge equipped with a 77 grain projectile as well as all other conventional cartridges with a lighter projectile.
  • The barrel features a standard 1/2”x28Tpi thread.
  • VG6 Epsilon Compensator (this model reduces recoil by about 60% and therefore also reduces bearing very significantly; it also limits muzzle flare).
  • The VG6 compensator is made of stainless steel with additional anti-corrosion and anti-erosion protection by nitriding.
  • Delivered with the VG6 ”Cage” which is a shock wave limiter which is mounted on the VG6 compensator for use in the immediate vicinity of other shooters.
  • Carpenter C-158 special steel cylinder head.
  • Cylinder head box made of 7075T6 aircraft alloy machined from forged parts.
  • This conversion is compatible with all AR15 receivers whose dimensions are MilSpec.
  • The barrel extension and the breech box feature the M4 type feed ramps.
  • The closing assistance button is retained.
  • The M-LOK standard floating handguard offers exceptional grip thanks to its small diameter.
  • The handguard features a Picatinny rail on top.
  • The handguard can be easily disassembled by removing 6 BTR screws.
  • The handguard is very long (13”) and allows all grips, including the outstretched arm at the end of the handguard.
  • The handguard is compatible with M-LOK standard accessories.
  • MilSpec type III anodization on the receiver, and the handguard.
  • 1 quick ball sling attachment point on each side of the handguard.
  • Delivered without sights.
  • Caliber: 5.56×45 (223 Rem.)
  • Delivered in a case with a VG6 ”Cage” device (see above).
  • Conversion classified in category B5.

NOTES regarding conversions:
The AR-15, from its conception, is a weapon that disassembles into 2 parts in seconds. Conversions (upper parts) allow you to quickly change configuration with a different barrel length from the initial weapon and/or a different sighting system, or even a different caliber like the 300 AAC Blackout. A conversion cannot be used alone, it therefore requires a prefectural authorization of category B5 which is not counted in the quota of weapons authorizations.

NOTES regarding the M-LOK system:

The M-LOK standard was developed by MAGPUL to quickly attach an accessory to a handguard with the following advantages:

get a smaller diameter handguard to improve grip.
be able to fix the accessory from the outside without a part to be positioned inside the handguard
to be able to create a handguard in synthetic material which would not be weakened by this system (although most of them are in aluminum)
have a positioning accuracy after disassembly/reassembly at least as good as the Picatinny/NAR standard.
This standard is free of rights and any manufacturer can integrate it into its production without paying royalties to MAGPUL.
